Much of my writing for this website has focused on how to get your ex back. However, sometimes when relationships go bad, you don’t want your ex back because the relationship has been an unhealthy one. You are ready and want to move on, but there is still a lot of pain there from the relationship ending. Here are some tips to help you move on and How To Get Over A Broken Heart.
Breakups are difficult and can be life changing events. It is perfectly OK to feel bad about the relationship being over. You should give yourself a little time to grieve. Below are some stages of grief that you will go through, and you can probably pick out which stage you are right now.
1. Denial that the relationship is over.
2. Anger about the end of the relationship.
3. Depression about the end of the relationship.
4. Finally acceptance that it is over and the ability to move on.
It may take sometime to get to stage 4, but it will all come with time.
One important step to moving on is to start exercising, if you are not already. This can be as simple as walking 30 minutes a day or going to a gym. The main idea to get some type of exercise everyday. This will do wonders for you mentally and physically. I know from experience how much better I feel when I am exercising regularly. Focusing on how good you will feel when you finish exercising will help you start or continue. If you follow this tip, you will start feeling better, looking better, and keeping yourself looking younger.
The next step can be hard, but you should start dating again. This will increase your self-confidence and also remind you that there is always life after a breakup. Do not worry about getting serious right now, just enjoy dating and meeting new people. You never know when you will meet someone special.
Just a short note on rebound relationships, be cautious. 90% of rebound relationships do not last as they are based more on the fear of being alone than actually be interested and knowing the other person. Like I said early, have a good time going out, but give it at least a few months before you go fully into another relationship.
Take sometime and learn to love yourself. In order to have a better relationship with someone in the future you need to be a whole person, not being dependent or needing someone else to complete you.
There are some advantages of being single. You can go and do anything you want. So, take that trip you have always wanted to go on, or pick up that hobby that has been interesting to you. Take this time and enjoy being single.
Broken hearts can be very painful, but time will heal you. Things will and do get better. This is a fact of life. At this time, you may be feeling a lot of pain and heartache, give it time, and it will get better. Think of this as a time of creating a better you and today is the beginning of a whole new life for you.
